The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin said that Russian competitions involving foreign athletes will have a new status.

“It is planned that athletes from abroad will take part in a number of starts. Such tournaments will be equal in status to the world and European championships, which should ensure the preservation of the level of social guarantees for domestic athletes and the basis for awarding them the appropriate sports titles, ”Matytsina reports. “Match TV”.

Competitions with the participation of foreign athletes have already been held on the territory of Russia. Athletes from Belarus took part in the Cup of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU).

It should be reminded that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) addressed the international sports federations and recommended them not to let domestic and Belarusian athletes participate in any competitions.

After that, several international sports organizations refused to hold competitions in Russia, and most sports federations suspended domestic athletes from participating in international competitions.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Handball Federation (FGR) challenged the suspension of teams from European matches.
