The climate in Turkey in spring and summer

Turkey is a country with hot and dry summers, snowy and cold winters. It stands out for its mountainous climate, which has continental features, as a result of which the Turkish regions have their own special weather conditions. The beginning of the holiday season here refers to April, and its end – to November.

Spring is characterized by flowering and fragrance, as well as comfortable weather. This can be explained by the non-hot sun, which gives people its soft rays. The air feels fresh and the breath is light and relaxed because of this. If a spring thunderstorm thunders, then warm rain will fall, and the air will be saturated with oxygen, that is, unpleasant sensations do not arise.

Consider the weather in spring and summer by month.

March

In the first spring month, the air warms up to 15-17 ° C, but there are also quite warm days with temperatures up to 20 ° C. Temperature indicators of seawater – 17 ⁰C –cool enough. The weather can still be capricious, it rains often, there may be cold days. But things are changing fast. In general, March is characterized by a large number of sunny days.

April

A month with consistently warm weather and an average temperature of a little more than 20 ⁰C. There is an opening of the season in virtually all hotels on the coast, in which vacationers come en masse. At this time, the sea water is rapidly heating up, but people with special tempering are already starting to swim.

The month is characterized by flowering plants in huge numbers. This applies to both cities and resort areas.

May

Especially the excellent first half of the month should be highlighted. It is safe to say that the warm summer season begins. Summer cafes and restaurants, radiating oriental hospitality, delight guests with national and not only cuisine. Mild heat with an average temperature of about 27 ⁰C. The water in the sea heats up more strongly to 20-21 ⁰C.

If you choose spring cities, it is better to give preference:

  • Alanya.
  • Istanbul.
  • Antalya.
  • Marmaris.
  • Belek.
  • Kemer.
  • Side.

June

It’s time to buy last-minute tours to Turkey, as the heat has already come, and there is no sweltering heat yet. There is a rapid filling of hotels with tourists. The average daytime temperature (in the country) is 27 ⁰C-30 ⁰C. At night, it can drop to 18-19 ⁰C. Sea water warms up to 23 ⁰C. For those who do not like the intense heat, this time is the best.

July

The holiday season is in full swing, its peak is coming. It is characterized by high temperatures – up to 33⁰C. Even at night at least 27 ⁰C. Sea water reaches the warmest values – about 28 ⁰C. There is a dry period in most of the Turkish territory. But the cities of Kemer and Beldibi are located near the mountains, so there is an increase in humidity in the evening. The Black Sea coast is characterized by coolness.

August

At this time, even experienced holidaymakers may not feel well. The fault is very hot weather. This month is characterized by daytime temperatures reaching 35 ⁰C, rarely, but sometimes 40 ⁰C. At night – 28-30 ⁰C. Very high humidity level. But the sea will please with very warm water – up to 29 ⁰C. However, this is also for an amateur, someone likes cooler conditions.

In the summer, cities will be the best for recreation:

  • status: Belek, Fethiye, Didim;
  • for families with children: Alanya, Marmaris, Dalaman;
  • youth resorts: Kemer, Marmaris, Bodrum;
  • elderly people: Marmaris, Fethiye, Alanya.

Turkey ranks 6th in the world as the most popular tourist destination. There is hardly a single person who has been there who would not like this country, which welcomes everyone with pleasure.

How to survive seasonal allergies in the spring. The whole truth about pollinosis

While spring is gradually coming into its own, someone is enjoying the sun and the unique aroma of freshness floating in the air, and someone is wiping away tears and sneezing every minute. Pollinosis is a mysterious word that represents a real hell for allergy sufferers.

With the beginning of the flowering period of various plants, many people begin to notice the first signs of allergies. It manifests itself most often in the form of a runny nose, swelling of the mucous membranes and a feeling of sand in the eyes.

For those who live most of their lives in the same climatic zone, seasonal allergies begin in the interval of 5-20 years. And for those who once changed (or regularly changes) the climatic zones of residence, allergies can begin in the first days of their stay in new conditions.

Whatever caused the pollinosis in you, you need to fight it. And we’ll tell you how.

A few “no” about pollinosis

As with many other diseases, there are many myths about seasonal allergies. The main one is that the most aggressive allergen is poplar fluff. The fluff flying everywhere really makes us sneeze and desperately scratch our eyes, but… poplar fluff does not cause allergies. It only carries pollen and spores of other allergenic plants (birch, beautiful, ash, etc.).

Seasonal allergy is not inherited, although many of those who suffer from it are sure of it. If one of your relatives is susceptible to pollinosis, it is not a fact that it will be transmitted to you or your children. Similarly, the absence of allergies in the family does not mean that in the spring you will never be disturbed by a runny nose and lacrimation.

How does pollinosis manifest itself

It is a mistake to believe that an allergic reaction is only watery eyes and a stuffy nose. These symptoms are the most common, but, alas, not the only ones.

With more severe forms of pollinosis, reddish itchy rashes on the skin may occur. This symptom is relieved by taking antihistamines, but even a potent medicine is not able to completely relieve you of itching. The red spots will most likely turn pale, but will not disappear.

In some cases, there may be a dry cough, difficulty breathing. And with a high concentration of pollen in the air, individual allergy sufferers show Quincke’s edema — with this symptom, you should immediately go to the hospital. Untimely assistance can even lead to death. But this is another story, of course, undesirable…

How to identify what causes allergies

To understand whether you have a predisposition to seasonal allergies or its obvious signs, it is not necessary to spend a lot of money and beat the thresholds of dozens of clinics and laboratories.

If you have a competent allergist in mind, one consultation with him will be quite enough. Of course, you will need to pass a number of tests (all of them are free, according to the health insurance policy), which will not only “tell” about the presence / absence of your tendency to allergies, but also reveal which plant (with a positive result) you have certain reactions.

How to make your life easier from seasonal allergies

How can you make your life easier if you still have pollinosis, but there is no way to leave for another climatic zone during flowering? No, no, we will not advise you to leave the house in a gas mask.

Everything is much simpler:

  1. After each stay on the street in the spring, when you come home, wash your face thoroughly, or even better, get in the shower. The head will also not be superfluous to wash. After all, allergenic pollen is “woven” into the hair like a spider web. Try to get rid of it as much as possible.
  2. On days when the weather forecast does not promise precipitation, if possible, stay at home. In dry weather, the concentration of pollen is very high. And the rain “nails” it a little, which is why it is easier for allergy sufferers to breathe in the rainy season.
  3. Use sunglasses. And if you are driving in a car, try not to open the windows.
  4. Use an air conditioner and/or humidifier during the period of hay fever. These devices slightly “filter” the air in the room.
  5. Rinse the nasal mucosa with a special spray against allergies (it is better to use those based on sea water) or ordinary water. This is how you remove particles of irritating pollen from the nasal passages. If you feel nasal congestion, rinse the mucous membrane. Within half an hour after that, the unpleasant symptom will go away.
  6. Refrain from eating fruits, honey, spicy foods and everything that provokes allergic manifestations. Try to eat foods with more neutral flavors.

Be healthy and enjoy the spring!
